Gibson Steps Great Ocean Road

Want to get up and close and personal with one of the 12 (8 remaining) Apostles on the Great Ocean Road Victoria? Then check out the Gibson Steps just a few km's before the main lookout to the Twelve Apostles.

When it is safe at low tide and the seas are not to rough taking the steps down to the beach is one the ways to get really close to the Apostles. While looking back up at the cliffs can be quite intimidating the view up close is spectacular. The steps were carved into the cliff by local settler Hugh Gibson who worked on traditional access used by the original Kirrae Whurrong inhabitants.
