Los Angeles Disney Music Hall

Way back in 1988 when I bought my first camera for $200 from a target in Oxnard California I would of never in a million years thought I would be back in 2023 photographing one the worlds more stunning buildings and enjoying it as anything I had photographed before or since.

The Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles otherworldly to look at. Designed by Frank Gehry, the building has the sheer steal look with amazing lines curves and futuristic look you would expect in a building in downtown Los Angeles. The sweeping, curved forms clad in reflective stainless steel. The exterior appears almost sculptural, with overlapping panels that resemble sails reflecting shades of light so effortlessly. 

The structure’s bold, fluid design is in contrast with the more conventional downtown area of Los Angeles and some may say out of place given the location but today it is a landmark with a mega city trapped around it. Opened in 2003, it serves as the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and is renowned not only for its appearance but also for its exceptional acoustics.
